The Kentucky Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (KAHSA) was founded in 1977. The association represents not-for-profit community, church, proprietary and government sponsored health care facilities, retirement communities, assisted living, housing and service programs for the elderly and the disabled.
KAHSA members include nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded, assisted living facilities, independent housing units, continuing care retirement communities, retired seniors volunteer programs and multi-facility agencies offering direct care. In addition, KAHSA members meet the needs of others through community outreach services that include home health care, congregated, and other programs. KAHSA members provide an atmosphere of fellowship and services that meet the social, physical and spiritual needs of the individual and helps the elderly achieve the dignity and quality of life they deserve in their retirement years.
